Every significant way to get trained in wraps and PPF — manufacturer programs, independent trainers, online platforms, private schools — with the prices providers actually publish. Where a provider publishes no price, this page says so in plain words: that silence is itself a finding.
Commercial $1,399 · Color Change $1,399 · Advanced $1,699 · Dry-Apply PPF $1,995
Two-day hands-on classes (about 90% hands-on) at rotating host shops across the US and Canada; each includes a free roll of film (worth $900–$1,000+), tools and a certificate of completion. The CWI — Certified Wrap Installer exam runs a half-day on Day 3 at select dates; Avery recommends at least 10 full wraps installed before attempting it. Advanced training requires prior Avery training within five years.
Style Your Ride $600 (1 day) · facility pathways $1,299–$2,399 — varies by facility
One-day basics up to 2–3-day color-change and PPF courses and 3–5-day fleet combos, delivered at 3M Center (St. Paul) and authorized facilities (Lowen Certified KS, Geek Wraps U FL, Accent Distributing FL, EPD MD). Examples: Lowen 3-day Fleet $1,499, 5-day combo $2,499, Color Change Training & Test $1,499; Accent Vehicle Wrap $1,799 (2 days, film roll and kit included), PPF $1,999, Color Change Preferred $2,399. Publish the range, not one price — that is the honest state of 3M pricing. Credential: 3M Preferred Graphics Installer, per specialty.

Hands-on beginner and advancement courses (including a 3-day advanced COLOR PPF course requiring at least a year of XPEL clear/matte PPF experience) at HQ in San Antonio and facilities in eight countries; PPF Magazine described an intensive four-day headquarters class (2022). Classes are exclusively for current authorized XPEL installers/dealers — would-be dealers apply first. Credential: XPEL Certified Installer.
Price not published — customers only

Via partner schools — e.g. $3,500 PPF at California Tint Academy
Solar Gard PPF training reaches students through schools that train on its film rather than a big public academy of its own.
Silver $99/yr · Gold $179/yr · Platinum $279/yr · Diamond $599/6 months
The category-standard online library: 3,500+ videos spanning wrap, PPF, tint and more, plus live sessions. (TWI's own pages give varying video counts; this site publishes the join page's 3,500+.) Membership itself carries no installer certification — TWI also powers separate brand programs (including ISA's $35/$50 intro course) that can carry their own diploma.
Online Air Wrangler Master Course $1,050 · 5-day in-person $2,500 (single-source aggregator — confirm before relying)
3M Authorized Training & Testing Facility in Fort Lauderdale: 3-day and 5-day hands-on courses plus online Air Wrangler programs, with on-site testing for 3M Preferred specialties and Geek Wraps' own Certified Graphics Installer.

Via Avery pricing
Coaching and consulting plus Avery classes delivered in St. Louis; the route to the Avery CWI pathway with a fleet/commercial specialist.
3-day workshop $1,300 USD / $1,600 CAD
Vinyl and cosmetic PPF personal training. Its claim to be “the first and only certified training facility in all of Canada” is a vendor claim, carried as such.
PPF 3-day $1,950 · Wrap 3-day $1,950 (materials, tools, certificate included; $500 deposit)
Also tint courses and a 9-day tint+wrap+PPF combo. Flag: the school's own pages price that combo two ways — $5,850 on its deposit page and $5,950 on its PPF page. This site publishes the consistent $1,950 course prices and flags the combo discrepancy rather than picking one.
PPF 2-day $3,500 · Wrap 4-day $2,550 ($500 deposit)
Trains on Solar Gard PPF; own certificate of completion after hands-on evaluation.
Online $999 · In-person 3-day $1,499 · Full Access $2,499
Six-module wrap + PPF + tint + ceramic curriculum from the multi-location Wraptors chain (founded 2016; 16 locations claimed by the company). Credential is Wraptors' own “certification.”
3 days, $1,995 all-inclusive, one-on-one
Color-change vinyl only — explicitly not PPF. No certification claimed; the curriculum's third day is pricing and quoting.
PPF or wrap: 1-day £600 · 2-day £995
STEK-accredited PPF training — a useful price benchmark from the UK market.
A half-day hands-on exam after training (Day 3); Avery recommends 10+ full wraps first. Earns a listing on Avery's Find an Installer. Brand-specific: proves Avery-film competence — not PPF, not other brands.
Rigorous hands-on + written testing per specialty (Fleet, Color Change, PPF, Window Film), established 2009, tested at St. Paul or authorized testers. Individual and portable; some specialties require dealer status and $1M liability insurance.
The company-level credential, administered by UASG since 2000 (program established 1999): 3+ years in business, an employee passing written and timed hands-on tests at 3M, insurance verified annually, site visits. The closest thing to a business credential in fleet graphics.
PRINTING United calls PDAA's the only certification “not tied to any vinyl manufacturer” — written and hands-on exams created by Rob Ivers in 1999. Honest caveat: PDAA's current public footprint is small and architectural-film-focused; whether vehicle Master testing is actively scheduled should be confirmed with PRINTING United directly.
Completion of XPEL training as an authorized dealer — includes DAP pattern software access (90,000+ patterns per XPEL's 2026 investor deck). Not open to the public: dealer status comes first.
Training plus the 8-hour written and practical exam, with a certified-network listing and free annual refresh.
Usually a practical assessment the school sets itself: no external standard and no brand authorization unless stated. Valuable as training; weak as a credential — the single most confusing point for customers, and one this hub exists to explain.
Knowledge exams from the International Window Film Association ($50 members / $100 non-members, 80% to pass) — window film only; not a wrap or PPF hands-on credential.
The International Window Film Conference's competitions added a PPF division (Gold $10,000, Silver $5,000, Bronze $1,000) and an inaugural Vehicle Wraps Competition in 2024 (Grand Champion $10,000). Recent PPF golds: Kyle Murdock (2022), Josh Maharajh (2023). Winners are billed as “world's best” in event marketing — an event claim, carried as one.
A global series of timed wraps — vehicle sections and mystery objects — judged by experts. First champion: Piotr Cinski (2013); the 2023 champion was Simon Manley Jokumsen of Denmark.
Live head-to-head installs at Avery's SEMA booth (2025 edition: 4–6 November). Judging is a 21-point rubric — straight cuts, sealed edges, overall surface appearance, up to 7 points each — with daily winners and a championship belt.
Avery's global project contest ran 2013 to about 2019, crowning “King of the Wrap World” at SEMA (MetroWrapz won overall in 2014 and again in 2018). No editions after 2019 were found — presented here as a historic contest, not a current one.
What titles actually mean: competition wins are reputation and marketing assets, not licenses. A WFCT gold or a World Wrap Master title is the strongest third-party skill signal in the trade precisely because there is no licensing regime — but it certifies performance on competition day, on competition panels, not business practices or insurance (contrast the UASG-administered 3M Certified Company program, which checks those). The stack smart installers build: brand certification for product and warranty access, a portfolio, and competition or assessed work for reputation. One clarification this site keeps strict: SEMA's Battle of the Builders is a whole-vehicle build competition — not a wrap-installation contest — and is never listed as one here.
